GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Hampton Lady Pirates sent several participants to the Florida Relays this weekend hosted by the University of Florida and came away with some stellar marks.
Corneisha Mitchell went over 50 meters for the second time this spring as she finished 25
th in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.45m (165-6).  She went over 52 meters to break the school record in the Shamrock Invite to start the spring with a mark of 52.98m (173-10). Mitchell also took 16
th in the discus with a toss of 43.50m (142-8) for a season best mark which qualified her for the ECAC meet in May.
Sashana Hinds just missed a season best time in the 400 meters running 56.64 missing her best mark by .23 seconds.Â
Kylie Mcmillan ran a season best 14.10 in the 100 hurdles and followed that with a career best time 25.88 in the 200 meters. Her time in the 100 hurdles was an ECAC qualifying time.
Autumn Smith ran a season best 59.76 in the 400 hurdles to finish 11
th and added a 14.11 in the 100 hurdles. Her time in both hurdle events qualified her for the ECAC meet later this season.
Isis Brooks ran an ECAC qualifying time of 24.57 in the 200 meters for her fastest time this outdoor season.
Hampton will next compete in the Colonial Relays next weekend in Williamsburg.
