ORLANDO, Fla. – The Hampton men's tennis team finished its Spring Break trip through Florida on Wednesday night with a 7-0 win over North Central College.
In doubles, the tandems of Matthew Foster Estwick and
Davy Van Geerke at line one, along with
Basil Post and Fayzullokhon Malvyud at line three won 6-2. At line two,
Cliff Dwyer and
Fernando Fernandes won 7-5 to lock the point.
Singles saw the Pirates win five of the six matches in straight sets, while Fister-Estwick won a 10-6 third-set tie-breaker to clinch the 7-0 win.
Hampton (4-7) returns to conference action by hosting its first match at Neilson-Screen Stadium on March 15 facing Longwood at 10 am.
