CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Big South Conference announced its Football Players of the Week on Monday afternoon as junior kicker and punter Axel Perez took Special Teams Player of the Week honors.
Perez made all four kicks (2-2 field goals, 2-2 PATs) and averaged 39.4 yards on his five punts in Hampton's 28-21 win at Campbell.  His 32-yard field goal put the Pirates ahead 17-14 late in the third quarter, while his 35-yarder in the fourth quarter extended Hampton's lead to 20-14.  Perez landed one of his punts inside the 20-yard line, and had one touchback on his six kickoffs.
