SEVEN LADY PIRATES NAMED TO MEAC ALL-TIME SOFTBALL TEAM

NORFOLK, Va. -- The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced its All-Time Softball team in conjunction with its 50th anniversary on Monday and seven former Lady Pirates were named to the squad.

More than 3,000 total votes were cast, with fans, media representatives, institution sports information contacts and others taking part. 

To be considered on the ballot, student-athletes must have been named to the All-MEAC First Team, MEAC Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year or Pitcher of the Year, holder of any MEAC single-season record or inducted into the MEAC Hall of Fame. 

In all, 50 individuals, including four MEAC Hall of Famers, were recognized. 
 
Congrats to the following honorees:
Amanda Black – Two-time MEAC Pitcher of the Year (2007, 2008); two-time First Team All-MEAC (2007, 2008)
Brandie Cobb – Two-time First Team All-MEAC (1998, 2001)
Yonetti Gwaltney – 2004 First Team All-MEAC; MEAC all-time leader in single season stolen bases (39, 2002)
Jailynn Jackson – Two-time MEAC Pitcher of the Year (2013, 2014); two-time First Team All-MEAC (2013, 2014)
Charisse Thompson – MEAC's all-time single season leader RBIs (67, 2000) and doubles (24, 2000)
Camille Whittaker – Three-time First Team All-MEAC (2003, 2004, 2006)
Maggie Wolfe – Two-time MEAC Player of the Year (2006, 2007); three-time First Team All-MEAC (2004, 2006, 2007)
