BUIES CREEK, N.C. (April 25, 2026) … Despite a career-mark by
Carmynn Bonner in game one, Hampton dropped a season-ending doubleheader to Campbell in a 10-2 and 8-0 decision on Saturday.
Bonner drove in the final run in the fifth inning of game one for Hampton to become the 15
th player in school history with 100 RBIs in her career.
Game One – Campbell 10-2 (6)
Hampton (10-32) got on the board in the fourth as Bonner walked and
Violet Salazar singled her to second. A single from
Camryn Hamilton moved the runners up a base before
Kamryn Brown's single to left dropped just in fair territory to plate Bonner as Hampton trailed 5-1.
After giving up a pair in the bottom of the fourth, Hampton got one back in the fifth with consecutive singles by
Jayleen Reeves and
Riley Bohanon before both were advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Aitrihna Aiken. Bonner hit a fly ball to center that allowed Reeves to score for the 100
th RBI of her career.
Bohanon continued her blazing finish to her season going 2-for-3 to lead Hampton at the plate. She ended game one on an eight-game hitting streak and has raised her batting average 150 points since conference play began.
Game Two – Campbell 8-0 (5)
Campbell took advantage of five walks in the first inning to score four runs and added one in the second on an RBI double from Kylie Specht. They added three more in the third on an RBI single by Emma Slutzah and two stolen bases.
Hampton got a pair of runners on in the third and fifth innings, but couldn't find the hit to bring in a run.
Bohanon, Salazar,
Santrea Armstead and Reeves all had hits for Hampton in game two.
