HAMPTON, Va.—Hampton University was recognized with two awards on Monday night at the 71st annual Peninsula Sports Club Headliners Night banquet honoring from the 2019-20 athletic year.
Former men's basketball standout Jermaine Marrow was honored as the Hampton University Athlete of the Year as he rewrote the record books to become the all-time leading scorer in Hampton University and Virginia Division I basketball history.
Joining him was former assistant women's basketball coach and alumna Kenia Cole who was recognized with a Thad Madden award. She was recognized for her winning the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Thirty Under 30 award in the 2019-20 season.
