Hampton, VA.- Sunday's Spartan-Pirate Clash finale against Rider and UMass Lowell ended in a double loss for the Lady Pirates.
 
Game 1 Final: Hampton 8  Rider 11
How It Happened: 
·      With the score tied at the top of the 7^th inning, the Broncs scored five runs to take the win (11-8).
·      Hampton tied the score in the 3^rd inning with a homerun by Emily Kepple down the left field line (2-2).
·      The lady pirates took the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring three runs on a fielding error by rider.
·      In the 7^th inning Lauryn Brooks and Tiera Washington scored two runs but it wasn't enough for HU to battle their way back into        the contest.

 
Game 2 Final: Hampton 0   UMass Lowell 4
How It Happened:
·      A rough game full of quick outs & wild pitches made it difficult for the lady pirates to score as the River Hawks claimed the win (0-4).
·      A homerun by Vaillancourt in the 4^th inning gave UMass Lowell the lead. (3-0)
·      In the top of the 5^th inning Hampton had a dropped fly and wild pitch giving UMass the two runs the river Hawks needed to win.
