Box Score 2 Hampton, VA.- The Lady Pirates came up short against University of Massachusetts Lowell 6-5, and Drexel 6-5.
The pirates dip to an overall 9-9 record after Saturday's action.

How It Happened:
- At the top of the first inning UMass' Olivia Labbe doubled down the left field line to score the river hawks first run. (0-1)
- Morgan Fisher reached first on a fielder's choice to Elizabeth Fredericks double, both scored making the score (0-3 UMASS).
- In the bottom of the first inning Kennedi Bedell scored Hampton's first run of the contest. (1-3).
- With Emily Kepple on second, Kiaya Jeusi hit her second home run of the season to tie the score (3-3 Hampton).
- All bases loaded in the third inning Broke Varner scored for the Lady Pirates on a passed ball. (4-3).
- With two outs in the fifth inning Olivia Labbe scored on a throwing error by the Pirate's (4-4)
- On a walk and two singles Lauryn Brooks added another run on the board for Hampton. (5-4)
- Second batter in line for the river hawks, Cayla Tulley, homered to the left field to tie the score yet again. (5-5)
- In the eighth inning Becca Vaillancourt reached third base on a fielder's choice, allowing Brooke Ashenfelter to score on a throw pinch running for Vaillancourt breaking the tie. (6-5)

How It Happened:
- The Pirates came out on fire in the first inning, sparked by two runs from Mo'ne Davis and Emily Kepple.(2-0)
- Sarah Clinton scored Drexel's first run on a single to the right field by Kristi DiMeo. (2-1)
- DiMeo and Jackie Masone's double RBI on a Sac fly and muffled throw by the pirates allowed the dragons to take the lead. (2-3).
- With all bases loaded Ashley Errico added another run on the board for the dragons.
- Janae Lyles the first batter up in the third inning, homered to the left field to score Hampton's third run. (3-4).
- In the top of the sixth inning the pirates tied the score with Tiera Washington making it home on a wild pitch. (4-4)
- Hampton's Joya Greer automatically being placed on second, scored another run on a passed ball in the eighth inning taking the lead. (5-4)
- In the bottom of the final eighth inning, down by one run, Drexel's Alana Backstrom and Sarah Clinton claimed the win on a fielder's choice and double. (5-6)
The Pirates will return to action tomorrow to close out the weekend against Rider at noon and UMass Lowell at 2 PM.
