HAMPTON, VA. (Sept. 25, 2023) ... Hampton is sixth in the latest BOXTOROW HBCU FCS Coaches Poll, it was announced. A week ago, Hampton made its first appearance in the poll.

The Pirates moved into the Top 10 after posting a 2-1 record in non-conference play. The Pirates have beaten No. 7-ranked Howard and No. 10-ranked Grambling State while falling to No. 8-ranked Norfolk State.

Hampton had an off-week but returns to action on Sept. 30 at Richmond (2-2) in the Coastal Athletic Association opener.
