HU’s Brennan Ridley Named to Phil Steele Freshman All-America Team

HAMPTON, Va. December 21, 2024) … Hampton wide receiver Brennan Ridley was one of 15 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) football players selected to the Phil Steele Freshman All-America squad. Ridley was a third-team honoree.

A native of Richmond, Va., Ridley was Hampton's leading receiver in 2024. The freshman caught 50 passes for 596 yards and four touchdowns. He had his best game of the season against nationally-ranked Rhode Island when he hauled in eight passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Ridley attended Trinity Episcopal High prior to joining the Pirates.

CAA players earning first honors were Elon defensive lineman Kahmari Brown, William & Mary defensive lineman Ty Gordon and Richmond defensive back Matthew Traynor. Selected to the second team were Villanova running back David Avit, Monmouth wide receiver Tra Neal and Villanova defensive back Zahmir Dawud.

In addition to Ridley, the third team selections were Monmouth running back Rodney Nelson, Elon running back TJ Thomas, Jr., Campbell wide receiver Randall King, Stony Brook defensive lineman Sebastian Regis and William & Mary defensive backs Sascha Garcia and TJ McGill. On the fourth team were Bryant linebacker Cole Nilles and UAlbany defensive back Erv Wiggins, Jr.
