HAMPTON, Va. (Apr. 12, 2024) - The Hampton Pirates lacrosse team will host the #19th ranked Towson Tigers on Saturday April 13th, at 12:00 p.m. in Armstrong Stadium.

The Pirates are coming off a 15-4 road loss to Monmouth last Saturday. Attackman
Miles Fawcett led the charge with a goal and assist along with goals from
Sebastian West,
Jonathan Angel, and
Mamadou Meite. This put Meite at eight goals on the season. Attackman
Darius Stanley and defenseman Amare Ford both led the team with three ground balls each along with face off specialist
Trevor Tran winning six face offs on the day.

Darius Stanley leads Hampton in goals with 10 and
Andre Myers in assists (4). Defenceman
Dillon Bethea holds the most ground balls (25) and cause turnovers (11) for the Pirates. Goalie
David Sadasivam has made 111 saves.

Scouting the Towson Tigers
Shawn Nadelen is in his 13th season as head coach of the Tigers. They enter the matchup with a record of 8-3 and are coming off of a 15-11 win over Hofstra.

The 19th-ranked Tigers come into the contest with one of the most potent offenses in the country, and a stout defense. All-CAA selection Nick Demaio ranks 11th in the country in assists per game with 2.82. Mikey Weisshaar is tied for 16th in the country in goals per game with 2.91. Weisshaar and Demaio both rank in the top 10 in the CAA in goals per contest. Weisshaar is also tied for fourth in the country in individual man-up goals with six. Two time All-CAA selection face off specialist Matt Constantinides is 17th in the country in face off winning percentage at 57.7% and 26th in the country in ground balls per game with 6.09.

Goalkeeper Luke Downs is averaging only 9.85 goals against him which is 18th in the country along with defenseman Colby Barsz ranking second in the conference in caused turnovers per game at 1.55.

The Pirates and Tigers have met once before, last season, where Towson was victorious 20-1 in Towson, Md.
