Shaw Wins High Jump at Liberty Twilight Qualifier

LYNCHBURG, Va. (May 1, 2024) – The Lady Pirates track & field team wrapped up competition at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier on Wednesday evening at the Matthes-Hopkins Outdoor Track in Lynchburg, Va.

Only seven athletes from the team made the trip.

Results

Emmani Shaw won the high jump finals at 1.76m. This is her second win in this event in the outdoor season.

Dieusi Armand grabbed second in the triple jump (12.07m) and Nina Pitt took fourth (11.40m). Danielle James tied for fourth in the long jump finals (5.81m) and Maya Hanks placed fifth (5.77m). Zionn Rice and Nina Pitt finished in fifth and sixth in the 100m hurdles finals (14.59, 14.79).

Both track & field teams will compete at the CAA Championships on May 10-11 at Elon.
