ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Oct. 20, 2025) … The Hampton University sailing team placed 18th in the Open Atlantic Coast Tournament Finals over the weekend. The Pirates comprised a total team score of 434 points over the course of 14 races. 

Tyler Brown led the Pirates A Division in all 14 races, while Kera Beckles, Kiara-Lee Wright and Micah Brandel rounded out the division. Ivet Bejar was the skipper for the B division accompanied by Wright, Brandel and Jackson Manley. 

The Pirates best race came in the second of the tournament when the A Division placed 11th.
