HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 6, 2025) … True freshman defensive back Andre Jackson Jr. was named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week for his performance in Hampton's 41-34 victory over longtime rival Norfolk State in the Battle of the Bay on Oct. 4.

Jackson registered a game-best 12 total tackles against the Spartans including eight solo and four assisted tackles including a sack in the win.

The Charlotte, N.C., native played his prep football at Corvian Community School before enrolling at Hampton this fall.

For the season, Jackson has totaled 25 tackles including 3.5 tackles for loss and is the sixth-leading tackler for the Pirates.

The Pirates take on CAA foe Campbell on Oct. 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Armstrong Stadium.
