HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 6, 2025) … Hampton was named HBCU National Team of the Week by Sports Perform following its 41-34 win over Norfolk State in the 60th annual Battle of the Bay.

The Pirates overcame a 21-10 deficit with a 24-3 run spanning the second and third quarters while beating Norfolk State. Quarterback Braden Davis had 266 yards of total offense and both a TD run and pass. Freshman cornerback Andre Jackson Jr. racked up a game-high 12 tackles, including a sack, for coach Trenton Boykin's CAA Football squad. Jackson was named Coastal Athletic Association Rookie of the Week for his performance against the Spartans.

Hampton is back in action on October 11 hosting Campbell at 2 p.m.
