RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 11, 2025) … The Coastal Athletic Association released its weekly track and field honors on Tuesday afternoon and Hampton's men's freshman Joseph Ernest was named Field Performer of the Week.

Ernest grabbed top honors in the triple jump at the Penn Classic on Saturday. With a leap of 14.85m (48-8.75), the freshman sits third in the CAA and is .04m shy of his career-high 14.89m performance from Jan. 18.

He is the first one from the men's team to earn honors this year, joining Peninah Mutisya and Victoria Caldwell as award winners from the CAA.

Hampton will run in a pair of meets this weekend participating in the David Hemery Valentine Invite in Boston and in Virginia Beach at the Pre-Nationals Invite hosted by Norfolk State.
