HAMPTON, Va. (March 1, 2025) … The Hampton men's lacrosse team returns to the home field of Armstrong Stadium on Sunday afternoon for a 5 p.m. faceoff against Mercyhurst.
This will be the first meeting against Mercyhurst who has made the move from NCAA Division II.
Hampton last saw action on February 22 in a 21-6 loss at Jacksonville behind two goals from 
Darius Stanley. Mercyhurst fell on February 25 to St. Bonaventure 11-9 behind four goals from Ethan Landymore.
ABOUT HAMPTON
The Pirates start a stretch of four home games out of a five-game stretch with Mercyhurst. 
AJ Knox leads the Pirates in scoring with eight goals, with Stanley right behind with four goals and three assists for seven points. Sebastien West has a team-high six assists for six points, while 
Reed Shaw has four goals for four points.
West is third in the CAA and 55
th nationally in assists per game averaging 1.5 per contest. In goal, Hampton leads the country in saves per game at 17.75, with 
Ben Kieu ranked 40
th nationally averaging 10.75 per game.
ABOUT MERCYHURST
The Lakers qualified for the NCAA Division II Tournament last season after winning the Mountain East Conference.
Jeremi Phoenix-Lefebvre leads the team in points scored with 12 as he's tallied five goals and a team-high seven assists in four games. Landymore has scored a team-best 10 goals with one assist for 11 points, while Ryan Mahoney adds seven goals and one assist to total eight points. In goal, Tyler Moritzen has made 49 saves and allowed 52 goals in four games.
