PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (March 21, 2025) … The Hampton University softball team began its three-game series against the Drexel Dragons. HU fell to Drexel 7-6 in seven innings. The Pirates had jumped out to a four-run lead. The Dragon's seven runs came during the final four innings. While Hampton was outhit 11-6, the Pirates did not commit a single error.

The Pirates got the bats going early with a productive first frame. Kylie Hill's single to center field scored the contest's first run. With back-to-back walks, Hampton loaded the bases with two outs. With the Dragons pitcher issuing another walk, Hampton jumped out to a 2-0 advantage.
