HAMPTON, Va. (April 2, 2025) … The Hampton University men's and women's tennis teams will return to the home courts of Neilson-Screen Stadium on Thursday for a 2 p.m. match against Coppin State.
Hampton's men (3-11) come in after a 6-1 loss to Norfolk State on Tuesday, while Hampton's women (5-6) fell 5-2 at Norfolk State. Coppin State's men (0-12) dropped all three matches at the MEAC Roundup last weekend in Washington, D.C., while the Coppin State women (1-11) were blanked in all three of their matches at the MEAC Roundup.
For the Hampton men,
Donte Armbrister leads with seven wins in singles while
Yanozie Amadike has four. In doubles, Armbrister has seven wins as well trailing
Marko Stoilkovski with eight.
Coppin State's men are topped in singles by Dentry Mortimer and Liam Murtaugh with three wins apiece. In doubles, Murtaugh and Harsh Kheterpal have two wins to lead the Eagles.
On the women's side, Hampton is topped by
Diana Starodubtseva with seven wins, while
Serena Bryan and Meri Okuwaki have six each in singles. Those three are joined by
Masa Mitic for the team lead in doubles wins with six.
Coppin State has Brady Babcock-Hannah leading in singles with two wins, while Allison Azarak has two wins in doubles to lead the team.
