HAMPTON, Va. (May 5, 2025) … Hampton University Head Football Coach
Trenton Boykin is a guest this month on Sports Highlights on Newport News Public Schools Television.
In 2024, the Pirates posted a 5-7 mark in Boykin's first season at the helm. Boykin was elevated from offensive coordinator to interim head coach in the summer of 2024. He was named permanent head coach during the season.
Hampton had a successful recruiting season adding 33 players to the roster. In addition, Boykin added four assistant coaches to the staff including: Raekwon Bethea (defensive tackles), Ollie Taylor (co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks), Delbert Tyler II (recruiting coordinator, tight ends), and
Marc Yellock (defensive ends).
The show will appear on Monday's at 7am, 2 pm, 7pm along with 9am on Saturday's and Sunday's on Cox Channel 47 in Newport News and Verizon FiOS 17. Greg Bicouvaris is the host of the show.

Hampton opens the 2025 season on Aug. 30 when the Pirates play at Jackson State. The first home game at Armstrong Stadium is slated for Sept. 6 when the Pirates entertain Elizabeth City State. Homecoming is set for Oct. 25 against Monmouth.
