HAMPTON, Va. (July 22, 2025) … Hampton University women's soccer coach
Scot Vorwold announced his 16-member recruiting class on Tuesday coming from five continents, eight countries and six states for the upcoming 2025 season.
"We are very pleased with the recruiting class for the 2025 season. We believe that we have a well-rounded group that's going to make an immediate impact giving us depth in every position," Vorwold said.
Hampton takes to the pitch on August 9 in an exhibition match against East Carolina on the road and will have its home opener on August 14 at 6 p.m. against Delaware State at Powhatan Field in Norfolk.
2025 Newcomers
Katherine Bean-Rosario – Smiths, Bermuda – FWD
A dynamic attacking presence from Smiths', Bermuda, Bean-Rosario joins the Pirates as a transfer from Monroe University, where she was named a JUCO All-American and scored 14 goals. A former U20 Bermuda National Team captain and standout multi-sport athlete, she brings leadership, experience, and serious flair to the pitch.
Sunday Blessing – Warri, Delta State, Nigeria – DEF
From Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, Blessing is a strong, versatile defender who can lock things down at both center back and right back. She brings championship experience from Nigeria's top women's league, having competed with Edo Queens, where she was part of a dominant squad that won the 2024 NWFL title, State FA Cup, Betsy Obaseki Tournament, and Sherose Tournament. Blessing also won a bronze medal for Nigeria at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 2022.
Alvine Dah-Zossu – Lagos State, Nigeria - FWD
Originally joining the squad this past January, Dah-Zossu made an immediate impact after transferring from North Idaho College. A dynamic right winger from Lagos State, Nigeria, she brings elite international experience as the captain of the Nigeria U-17 Women's National Team, leading her country to a bronze medal at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in India. Her speed, creativity, and composure on the ball add a special edge to our attacking unit.
Shaima Estevao - Biel/Bienne, Switzerland - CB
Coming from Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, Estavo is a skilled and composed defender with top-level experience from Switzerland's GC Zürich U17 and U19 teams, as well as FC Aarau U20. She helped GC secure a third-place league finish in the 2022–23 season and brings strong defensive awareness, discipline, and a European edge to the backline.
Afusatu Fuseini – Cape Coast, Ghana – MID
A versatile defender and holding midfielder from Cape Coast, Ghana, Fuseini brings international experience and composure on the ball to the Pirates. She developed her game with Socrates Ladies FC and graduated from Heritage Academy Senior High School.
Shania Harris – Portmore, Jamaica – MID – Young Harris
A clinical attacker from Portmore, Jamaica, Harris joins the Pirates as a forward/midfielder with experience at both Daytona State and Young Harris College. Over two seasons, she netted 20 goals and added nine assists, earning All-Conference First and Second Team honors, as well as All-Region recognition. With sharp instincts in front of goal and ability to control the midfield, Harris brings proven collegiate experience and an attacking edge to Hampton this fall.
Hasha Holder - Georgetown, Guyana - MID
Originally from Georgetown, Guyana, Holder is a dynamic and versatile player who excels as both an attacking midfielder and center back. She transfers in from Talladega College, where she served as team captain, recorded 30+ assists, and earned academic honors including the President's and Dean's List. Holder brings high-level international experience, having represented Guyana at every stage: from the U15s to the Senior Women's National Team.
Annika Kleffmann - Mönchengladbach, Germany – GK
The 5-10 goalkeeper from Mönchengladbach, Germany brings international experience to the squad after competing with MSV Duisburg, one of Germany's top women's clubs. Between the posts, she adds depth and size to our goalkeeping unit.
Eden Lander – Denver, Colo. – FWD
A dynamic attacking presence out of Denver, Colo., Lander joins the Pirates as a midfielder and striker. She tallied an impressive 68 goals and 54 assists throughout her high school career and earned All-State Honorable Mention in 2023. Eden also competed at the ECNL Regional League level with Colorado Rapids
Elodie Metho – Bafia, Cameroon - FWD
A talented forward from Bafia, Cameroon, Metho brings international experience with the Cameroon National Teams (U17, U20, and Senior) and collegiate success at Faulkner University, where she was named Southern States Conference Freshman of the Year, All-Freshman Team, and All-NAIA Second Team. She also spent time at Marshall University, continuing her growth at the D-I level.
Caitlyn Peace – Chalfont, Pa. – FWD
From Chalfont, Pa., Peace comes in as a 2023 state champion, team captain, and 2024 Offensive MVP at Pennridge High School. She led her team in both goals and assists her senior year and was named to the Suburban One First-Team All-League. Peace played club ball for Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals GA 06.
Ava Philyaw – Eugene, Ore. – MID
A 5-7 midfielder from Eugene, Ore., Philyaw is a two-time all-conference selection out of Willamette High School and joins us from Oregon Surf.
Madisyn Rimpsey – Columbus, Ohio – DEF
The 5-5 outside back from Columbus, Ohio is a four-year varsity player at New Albany High School and competed at a high level with Cleveland Force, reaching the ECNL Final Four.
Throughout her high school career, Rimpsey earned recognition with First Team, Second Team, Honorable Mention, All-Conference, and All-Star selections, showcasing her consistency and impact on the field.
Morgan Stanton – Cairns, Australia – MID
Originally from Cairns, Australia, Stanton is a versatile attacking midfielder transferring in from Heartland Community College, where she served as team captain and was recognized in the honor society. A natural leader and creative engine in the midfield, she also helped her team to a third-place finish at nationals.
Jayda Sutton – Chesapeake, Va. – MID
A versatile attacking threat from Chesapeake, Va., Sutton brings elite-level experience as a playmaker. A standout for Western Branch High School and Golden Ball Soccer Academy, she helped her club secure State and CCL titles while competing in NPL. She was also a multi-year ODP regional tournament selection and an alternate for the National ODP Camp in 2022.
Imani Yarbough – Wylie, Texas – DEF
The Wylie, Texas native is a 5-4 defender and captain out of Wylie High School, and brings a strong resume that includes 1st Team All-District, All-Region 6A, and Defensive MVP honors. She played club ball for Solar 06G Reese ECNL RL/NPL.
