HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 25, 2025) … The Hampton University women's soccer team will conclude its 2025 slate on Sunday afternoon with a 1 p.m. kick in Williamsburg against the Tribe of William & Mary.
Hampton (5-11-1, 0-8-0) comes in after a tough 3-2 loss to Elon on Thursday.
Shania Harris scored on a penalty kick with 12 minutes left in the first half and
Jayda Sutton recorded a corner kick goal in the 69
th minute.
W&M (6-6-4, 4-2-2) hasn't played since a 1-0 win over Monmouth on Oct. 19 as Ellie Leffler scored at 78:29 to break the scoreless battle at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.
ABOUT HAMPTON
As a team, the Pirates have scored 26 goals this season which is second most in program history. Only the 2017 team has scored more with 28 goals.
The two goals against Elon tied for the most in a conference contest in program history equaling a 2019 contest against High Point.
The two goals also gave the Pirates 67 points scored on the season which is a school record topping the 63 in 2017.
Nylah Jennings leads Hampton in goals scored (5) and points (12), while Sutton is next in goals (4) and points (10).
Avery John has a goals against average of 1.95 and 75 saves having started 16 of 17 matches this season. Her 75 saves are sixth most in a season, while her 1.95 season goals against average is second best all-time.
ABOUT W&M
The Tribe have clinched a spot in the CAA Tournament and can lock up second place in the South Division with a win. W&M has won three of its last four matches with the only loss coming to UNCW (4-1).
Ivey Crain leads the Tribe in goals scored (5) and shares the points lead with Lindsay Wilson with 10. Wilson follows her in goals scored (4) and is tied for second in assists with Ella Ledwith and Madison Moon with two. Sheridan Brummett is tied with Wilson in goals scored having four tallies.
In goal, Gwen Doughty has seen action in all 16 matches with a .740 save percentage and a goals against average of 1.24. She is third in the league in save percentage and fifth in goals against average.
