NORFOLK, Va. (August 15, 2026) … A Danica Barham goal with eight minutes remaining provided the final margin as Temple held off a feisty Hampton flurry in a 1-0 decision on Saturday afternoon.
Temple (1-1) held a 7-1 advantage in shots in the first half, but the Pirates kept the Owls caged up with a stingy defense and the stellar play of freshman goalkeeper

Hampton (0-2) made a couple tweaks in the second half and came out with a pair of chances that were snuffed out by Temple goalie Ana Zivkovic.
The Owls were able to manufacture a corner kick approaching eight minutes left in the contest as Linnea Linden served it in and Maddie Ward deflected it to Barham at the 82
nd minute mark.
Hampton starts a five-match road swing on August 22 when they face Howard in the Battle of the Real HU at the HBCU Soccer Invitational inside Audi Field in Washington, D.C.
