HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 28, 2025) … Hampton University women's soccer standout Nylah Jennings was a speaker at the sixth annual Hampton Roads Youth Foundation Student-Athlete "Bet on Yourself" Leadership Symposium. A member of the Hampton women's soccer team, Jennings spoke on mental wellness to a group of area high school student-athletes.
 
The event was held on the campus of Christopher Newport University on Oct. 22.
 
The Hampton Roads Youth Foundation is geared toward high school student-athletes and concentrates on the areas of social media, leadership, financial literacy and mental wellness.
 
The sophomore forward graduated in the Top 10 of her class at Bowie (Md.) High before enrolling at Hampton. She is a Dean's List student and a member of the National Honor Society.
 
The Bowie, Md., native started all 18 matches for the Pirates and was the team's leading scorer five goals with two assists.
 
Dr. W. Timothy Orr, a member of the Sports Science Wellness faculty, is a member of the organization's Board of Directors.
