ANNAPOLIS, MD. (Sept. 15, 2025) ... The Hampton University sailing team placed ninth over the weekend at the Chesapeake Open hosted by Navy. Ivet Bejar added an 12th place finish in the Faye Bennet MAISA Women's Singles Championships with a score of 92. 

The Pirates A Division consisted of skipper Tyler Brown and Kiara-Lee Wright. Over the course of the nine races, the two recorded a final score of 129. The ninth race proved to be the best for the two, as they placed 10th out of 18. Chloe Anderson and Jackson Manley rounded out the Pirates B Division, as they added a score of 142. competing in all 9 races. 

Ivet Bejar finished 12 out of 18 in the women's singles competition. Bejar recorded a third place finish in the second race, and an sixth in the eighth.
