NORFOLK, Va. (Sept. 28, 2025) … A pair of goals in a 10-minute span of the first half for visiting Campbell propelled the Camels to a 2-0 win over Hampton in CAA women's soccer action on Sunday afternoon.

Campbell (3-4-3, 1-1-1) scored in the 19th minute as Abby Connolly served one from deep in the Camels end to a breaking Ella Wineka who took advantage of a hop off the turf and pushed the guests ahead 1-0 at 18:43.

Connolly assisted on the other goal for Campbell off a corner kick at 28:43 when she found Zahra Fepessi who headed the ball in for the 2-0 advantage.

Hampton (5-6-1, 0-3-0) had a couple opportunities, including a breakaway in the early stages from Jayda Sutton that was snuffed out by JLo Varada. Mattie Edozie had a shot in the final minutes, but was just over the crossbar.

On the game, Hampton was outshot 12-8 and saw Campbell hold a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Pirates are back in action on Thursday, Oct. 2 in Charleston, S.C. against the Charleston Cougars.
