HAMPTON, Va. (Jan. 21, 2026) ... Hampton will put its 10-game winning streak at the Convocation Center on Jan. 22 when the Pirates tackle Monmouth.

Ivan Thomas has made the Pirate a team to be reckoned with on its home court. The Pirates are 16-4 (.800) at home under his guidance with a 10-game winning streak at the Convocation Center.
Hampton closed out the 2024-25 campaign winning its last five home games and are 6-0 at home this season. That streak will be on the line against Monmouth. Both the Pirates and Hawks sport identical 9-10 overall and 3-3 CAA logs.
Monmouth snapped a two-game losing streak with an 81-68 victory over Northeastern. The Hawks have a 3-6 record in games on enemy courts.
The game will mark only the second time Monmouth has played at Hampton. The Pirates recorded their only win in the six-game series with a 64-56 triumph on Feb. 29, 2024.
The Game
A comparison of the statistics between Hampton (9-10, 3-3) and Monmouth (9-10, 3-3) reveals that the two teams are almost identical statistically.
Both teams have the same overall and conference records (9-10, 3-3). Both teams snapped a two-game losing streaks in their last outing. Both teams average 71.3 ppg and shoot .431 from the field. Opponents shoot .426 against the Pirates and .424 against the Hawks.
Hampton and Monmouth have played two common league opponents so far this season. Both squads registered victories against conference-favorite Towson while both the Pirates and Hawks lost decisions to Campbell earlier in January.

Michael Eley, who sports a 12.2 ppg averaged, 13th best in the CAA. Eley scored a career-high 43 points at Campbell on Jan. 8. Teammate
Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt is 25th in the league with 11.6 ppg, averaging 20.5 ppg in the last two contests.
Monmouth is led by Jason Rivera-Torres, who is eighth in the CAA with 15.5 ppg. Justin Ray ranks 21st in the league in scoring with a 12.1 norm.
The game is the second of a three-game homestand. Hampton is scheduled to take on UNCW on Jan. 24 at 12 pm. weather permitting. A major snowstorm is predicted to blanket the area with more than a foot of snow.
