Pirates Add Three Football Transfers

HAMPTON, Va. (Jan. 27, 2026) … Three football players have announced their decision to transfer to Hampton for the 2026 season, it was announced by new head coach Van Malone. The three defensive players include cornerback Brandon Parnell, defensive back Keyon Stoutemire and linebacker Jabari Henry.
 
The trio of players join quarterback Jalen Woods, tight end Dedrick Borden, quarterback Tre'Von Taylor and defensive back Caimon Mathis, who earlier announced their plans to transfer to Hampton.
 
Parnell, a 6-1, 165-pound native of Richmond, Texas, played at Miles College before deciding to transfer to Hampton. He registered 22 total tackles in 2025 including breaking up two passes. He totaled four solo tackles against Virginia Union on Aug. 31, 2025 and had four stops versus Morgan State on Sept. 27, 2025. He also had three tackles and a tackle for loss against Tuskegee on Nov. 8, 2025. In addition to football, he was a member of the track & field team at Foster High.
 
Stoutemire played at LaGrange (Ga,) College where he registered 41 total tackles in 2025. In addition, he had three tackles for loss, two interceptions and broke up eight passes. The 6-2, 170-pound defensive back had his best game was against Berry with has had eight tackles. Stoutemire earned second-team All-USA South honors last season. A native of Gulf Breeze, Fla, he played his prep football at Lighthouse Private Christian Academy where he was a member of the football and basketball teams. He earned MaxPreps Player of the Game honors three times during his senior season.
 
Jabari Henry was a standout performer at West Virginia State. The 6-5, 245-pound linebacker amassed 23 tackles in 2025 including six against Fairmont State. A native of Delray Beach, Fla, he attended Atlantic Community High where he was named first-team all-district in both football and basketball. He set his high school records in both tackles and sacks.
