Softball Visits Stony Brook For Three-Game Series

HAMPTON, Va. (Mar. 12, 2026) … The Hampton Pirates softball team hits the road this weekend for its second CAA series as they head to face the Seawolves of Stony Brook in a three-game set.

Friday's game will start at 2 p.m., while Saturday will commence at 1 p.m. and Sunday's first pitch is at noon from University Field.

SERIES VS. STONY BROOK
The Seawolves lead the all-time series 7-0 and won the CAA series last year at Hampton 9-1, 10-0 and 13-0. The teams have played one series at Stony Brook in the 2023 season where the Seawolves won 8-0 and 9-0.

ABOUT HAMPTON
The Pirates head to New York on a four-game losing skid following a 10-0 loss to 14th-ranked Virginia on Tuesday in Charlottesville. Carmynn Bonner and Victoria Salazar had one hit each for Hampton against the Cavaliers.

Bonner leads the team in batting average (.482), hits (27), runs (11), doubles (6), home runs (2), RBIs (14), total bases (39), slugging percentage (.696) and on-base percentage (.516). Salazar is next at a .291 average with 16 hits, four doubles and driven in eight runs.

On the mound, Ava Lester sports a 3.88 ERA with a 2-2 record. Freshman McKenzie Rimmer-Jones leads the team in wins (3) and strikeouts (23).

ABOUT STONY BROOK
Rachael Brown leads the team in hitting at a .327 clip with 18 hits, three doubles, three home runs and a team-best 13 RBIs. Following her is Elena Gonzalez (.277 avg) and Ella Hayes (.276).

Jayci Finch leads Stony Brook on the mound with a 2-4 record and a team-best 2.67 ERA. Aubrey Jepson sports a 3.04 ERA and a team best 38 strikeouts.

Stony Brook lost its CAA opening series to Hofstra, swept a doubleheader with FDU (10-2 and 3-1) and lost to Iona (9-2) heading into this weekend.

Hampton is home on Tuesday for a doubleheader against UMES starting at noon.
