NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Mar. 23, 2026) … The Hampton University sailing team finished seventh in their first tournament of the spring season at the Hanbury Trophy. 

The Pirates A division led by Ivet Bejar and Micah Brandel earned top five finishes in four of the regattas, with the best coming in the fifth when they finished second, posting a combined score of 122. 

Jackson Manley, Kera Beckles, and Maggie Cesario-McKeon represented the Pirates in the B division posting a combined score of 214 over the course of the 14 regattas.
