2009 JUNIOR SEASON
Played in 11 games for the Pirates, making four starts… recorded 10 tackles (seven solo, three assisted) on the season… had two solo tackles at Norfolk State… had one solo tackle and one assisted stop against Florida A&M… recorded one sack for seven yards against Howard.

2008 SOPHOMORE SEASON
Played in six games for the Pirates… recorded four tackles on the season, including two solo efforts… recorded one solo tackle each against Southern Illinois and Bethune-Cookman… assisted in tackles against North Carolina A&T and Winston-Salem State… tackle against Bethune-Cookman was for a loss of one yard.

2007 FRESHMAN SEASON
Played in four of the Pirates’ 11 games… recorded two solo tackles and three assisted tackles.

TROTWOOD-MADISON HIGH SCHOOL
Had 65 tackles as a junior to go along with nine sacks, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries… won the Ram Leadership Award as a junior… recorded 50 tackles as a senior with eight sacks, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries… All-Conference as a senior… ranked No. 58 among seniors in Ohio… played basketball as a freshman and sophomore, averaging 12.5 points and eight rebounds a game his sophomore season.

PERSONAL
Born Oct. 25, 1988… son of Rhonda Rhea and Michael Byrd… both parents are graduates of Hampton University… nicknamed Byrdman… majoring in history with a minor in finance… wants to play professional football before becoming a lawyer.
