Senior Michael Freeman was named HU Athletes of the Week on Tuesday due to his performances on the basketball court.

Freeman, the reigning MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, has nine double-doubles this season following Monday’s 21-point, 16-rebound performance at Maryland-Eastern Shore. He has three straight double-doubles; against Bethune-Cookman on Jan. 25, Freeman (Alexandria, Va.) scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, and he added 13 points and 10 rebounds this past Saturday at Delaware State.

He also averaged 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals against Bethune-Cookman and Delaware State.
