Hampton University junior guard Kwame Morgan was named HU Athlete of the Week following his outstanding performance on the basketball court over the holiday break.

Morgan (Largo, Md.) was selected to the 2010 Hilltop Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging 22.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists to lead the Pirates to a 2-1 mark in non-conference play last week. He went 11-for-30 from 3-point range in that three-game stretch.

His standout performance included the game-winning 3-pointer to cap a 29-point performance in a 77-75 win over Colorado State.

Morgan was named MEAC Player of the Week.
