Hampton University sophomore right-side Vendula Strakova was named HU Athlete of the Week following her outstanding performance on the volleyball court this past weekend.

Strakova (Brno, Czech Republic) was named to the All-Tournament Team at the McNeese State big Daddy’s Invitational, after averaging 4.59 kills per set and 2.24 digs per set in four matches. She had 22 kills and 14 digs in her Hampton debut against Bethune-Cookman, hitting .354.

She then had 30 kills and hit .266 against Baylor in an epic five-set battle, and she hit .293 for the weekend, while adding nine service aces in 17 sets of action.
