HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University women's basketball team will play host to Delaware State on Monday at 6 p.m. at the HU Convocation Center, marking the team's 2011-12 home finale, as well as Senior Night.

The Lady Pirates (19-4, 11-1 MEAC) picked up their fourth straight win on Saturday, beating Maryland Eastern Shore 47-29. Warner led Hampton with 13 points, while junior forward
Keiara Avant (Chesapeake, Va.) pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds as the Lady Pirates held UMES to just 15.9 percent shooting.
Hampton is one win away from winning 20 games for the third straight season.
Delaware State (5-20, 2-10 MEAC) has lost 13 of its last 15 games following Saturday's 78-73 overtime loss to Norfolk State. Sophomore guard Tasia Bristow led the Lady Hornets with 19 points, while sophomore guard/forward Deanna Harmon added 16 points and freshman guard/forward Tierra Hawkins scored 15 points.
Delaware State went 9-20 last season, finishing 10th in the MEAC with a mark of 5-11. The Lady Hornets, under 12th-year head coach Ed Davis, return two starters and four letterwinners from last year's squad, and Delaware State was picked to finish 10th in the MEAC this season.
Hawkins leads the team in scoring with 14.6 points per game to go along with a team-high 6.8 rebounds per contest, while Bristow is second in scoring with 12.3 points per contest.
The Lady Hornets are scoring 56.4 points per game, while giving up 67.0 points a night.
Hampton is 27-12 all-time against Delaware State, having won the seven meetings between the two teams and 14 of the last 16. Delaware State last defeated Hampton on Feb. 9, 2008, 58-36 in Memorial Hall. Delaware State has never won more than three in a row against Hampton, and the Lady Pirates are 14-5 against the Lady Hornets in Hampton, Va.
The Lady Pirates are 271-136 all-time against teams currently in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). Hampton has a winning record against every MEAC school. In addition, Hampton has won or shared regular-season MEAC titles four times (1998-99, 2002-03, 2003-04, 2010-11) and claimed five MEAC Tournament crowns (2000, 2003, 2004, 2010, 2011).
Under head coach
David Six, the Lady Pirates are a combined 28-6 at the HU Convocation Center over the past two-plus seasons — including a 10-2 mark at home last season and a 10-3 mark in 2009-10. The Lady Pirates had won 16 straight at home dating back to last season prior to a 69-66 overtime loss to Coppin State on Jan. 28.
Hampton is 8-1 at home this season, having beaten South Carolina State, Savannah State, Maryland Baltimore County, East Carolina, Howard, Norfolk State, Morgan State and Maryland Eastern Shore.
