KETTLER NAMED TO ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM AT BOWIE STATE BOWLING TOURNEY

BOWIE, Md. -- The Hampton University women's bowling team won two matches over the weekend at the Frederick E. Underwood Tournament hosted by Bowie State University in Bowie, Md.
 
The Lady Pirates had a rough day on Friday, losing four of their five matches. They lost to Morgan State 597-630, Norfolk State 521-676, Howard 478-481, St. Francis (NY) 472-661, before defeating Chowan 473-392 in their final match in baker play.
 
On Saturday, the Lady Pirates had a victory over Livingston (639-594), after losing matches to Farleigh Dickinson 579-503 to N.C. Central (806-828), Adelphi (684-866) and to Virginia State (763-779).
 
The highlight of the weekend came on Sunday, when Senior Pamela Kettler (Cincinnati, Ohio) was named to the All-tournament team for the weekend. Kettler bowled a team-high 1014 total pins on Saturday, and her game-high was 233 against Farleigh Dickinson. She also bowled a 226 against Virginia State and a 205 against Livingston.  She averaged 202.80 pins per match.
 
As a team, Hampton's total pinfall was 3,084 on Saturday, averaging 721.6 total pins per game.
 
The Lady Pirates will compete next on Feb. 7-9, at the Delaware State Capital Classic, which will be held in Dover, De.
