DELAND, Fla– The Hampton University bowling team ventured to DeLand, Florida over this past weekend to compete in the second group match for the MEAC South Division where they finished fourth in the event.
Sophomore 
Evann Smith was the top finisher for the Lady Pirates over the weekend as she came in 12
th place with a 168 average for her five games with a team-best 220 against Florida A&M.   Joining her in the top 20 was Diamond Cummings in 17
th averaging 161.8 for her five games with a high of 200 also against Florida A&M and 
Laina Rivers in 20
th averaging just under 160 with a tournament-high of 191 against North Carolina A&T.
They defeated Florida A&M in a team match (856-847) and again in the baker-format match (839-804).
Hampton is now off until Jan. 15-17 at the Bowie State Bulldog Classic in Bowie, Md.
