NORFOLK, Va. -- The 2015-16 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) All-Academic Bowling team was announced by the conference office on Thursday and five Lady Pirates were recognized.
Hampton's honorees are:
Laina Rivers (Interdisciplinary Studies)
Tiauna Mathieu (Criminal Justice)
Daysha Baskin (Nursing)
Chyanne Thomas (Business Administration)
Clara Pitt (Criminal Justice)
MEAC sophomore, junior, and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, as well as transfer student-athletes who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year, are eligible for All-Academic accolades.
"Congratulations to our bowling student-athletes, who maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average, during the 2015-16 academic year," said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. "I would also like to acknowledge and thank the institutional and athletic academic support staffs, faculty, coaches and families for their support in the success of the student-athletes both on the lanes and in the classroom."
A total of 33 student-athletes from the 10 MEAC bowling institutions were recognized on the team. Hampton only trailed Delaware State, which had seven honorees for the most on the list.
