LAUREL, Md. -- The Hampton University bowling team finished competition this weekend in the Frederick and Jean Underwood Classic tied for fifth place in the three-day event hosted by Bowie State University.
Devin Hill was the top finisher individually for Hampton as she had a five-game total of 822 to finish in 24
th place and her best game was a 187. Â
Jenai Teamer was 29
th individually with a five-game total of 807 and a high game of 180.
In the championship round on Sunday, Hampton lost to St. Francis-Brooklyn in four games (821-542) and defeated Virginia State in six games (985-894). A four-game loss to Norfolk State (693-511) put them in a tie for fifth place finish.
After an 0-5 start in day one of the event, Hampton bounced back to win two of the five head to head team matches to head into Sunday's championship round in seventh place.
Next up for Hampton will be a trip to Kutztown University next weekend for the Kutztown Invitational in Reading, Pa.
