Results: Men | Women
SMYRNA, Del. – The Hampton University women's cross country team finished fourth in the MEAC Championships on Saturday morning, while the men's cross country team finished fifth in the team standings.
The Lady Pirates wound up with 130 points. Florida A&M won its third straight MEAC women's title.
Junior
Ce'aira Brown (Philadelphia, Pa.) earned All-MEAC honors with a sixth-place finish, as she ran the 5K course in 19:24.00. She came into the weekend with the MEAC's top time.
Sophomore
Sharon Kiptoo (Eldoret, Kenya) was 18th with a 20:00.60, while junior
Kaylor Murray (Nashville, Tenn.) was 26th after running a 20:29.50. Senior
Malekah Holland (Brooklyn, N.Y.) ran a 21:04.20 to finish 33rd.
Sophomore
Caren Bartuin (Eldoret, Kanya) was 48th with a 21:46.50, and sophomore
Kanitra Hatton (Portsmouth, Va.) ran a 22:29.00 to come in 55th.
The Pirates finished with 144 points. Maryland Eastern Shore won the men's team title.
Freshman
Stanley Davis (Glen Allen, Va.) led the Pirates with a 28:50.10 over the 8K course to finish 20th, while senior
Edose Ibadin (Glendale, Md.) was 24th with a 29:15.70 and junior
Quentin Morales-Perryman (Woodbridge, Va.) was 28th with a 29:26.50.
Christopher Roundtree ran a 29:52.60 to finish 32nd.
Freshman
Eric Ellis (Chesapeake, Va.) was 40th with a 30:34.50, and senior
Ramon Kelly (Norfolk, Va.) ran a 32:10.10 to finish 58th.
