HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 30, 2025) … The Hampton University men's and women's cross country teams will finish their 2025 seasons on Friday morning at the CAA Championships in Lakewood, N.J. at Ocean County Park.
The women's 6k race will start at 10 a.m., while the men's 8k affair will begin at 11 a.m.
A total of 11 schools will compete for the men's cross country championship – W&M, Campbell, Charleston, Elon, Hampton, Hofstra, Monmouth, UNCW, North Carolina A&T, Northeastern, and Stony Brook. Towson joins that group for the women's championship. Stony Brook is the three-time defending champion on the men's side, while Northeastern won its first title, snapping Elon's streak of five championships in a row.
LAST YEAR AT CAA'S
The Pirates were highlighted by
Peninah Mutisya taking second in the women's 6k race in 20:23.60 to earn All-CAA honors. She was Hampton's first All-CAA performer in cross country.

rd) are the returning runners from last season for the women.
On the men's side,
Mohammed Al-YaFee was the top finisher coming in 48
th in 27:31.80. He is joined by Khalil Hamid (84
th) as returners from last season.
LAST EVENT
Hampton's women finished fourth and the men in fifth at the CNU Invitational on September 12.
Avah Savage was the top finisher for Hampton's women in 10
th with a 23:58.73 over a 6k Lee Hall Mansion course. For the men, Al-YaFee ran a season best 26:51.14 to take ninth.
