BOWLING COMPETES IN MEAC NORTH TOURNAMENT

Baltimore, Md. – The Hampton University bowling entered Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play on Saturday and Sunday, competing in the third MEAC Northern Division meet of the season hosted by Coppin State University.
 
The Lady Pirates went 1-9 on the weekend, which included a 0-5 mark in Saturday's match play and 1-4 in Sunday's Baker action.
 
On Saturday, the Lady Pirates opened match play with 786-844 loss to Morgan State and a 814-873 loss to Coppin State. The Lady Pirates also dropped a match against Howard 764-787.
 
Some highlights from the weekend came from Evann Smith (Indianapolis, IN) who averaged 185.2 pins per match in team match-play. Smith bowled a 203 against Coppin State and a 189 against Morgan State.
 
Pamela Kettler (Cincinnati, Ohio) led the Lady Pirates with 978 total pins on Saturday, averaging 195.6 pins per match. She bowled a season-best 236 against Morgan State and 221 against UMES.
 
Laina Rivers (Bloomfield, CT) bowled a 178 against Delaware State and a 175 against Coppin State.
 
On Sunday the Lady Pirates finished the division meet beating Coppin State in Baker total pins 652-643.
