Results: Panther Classic | Eagle Classic

HAMPTON, Va. – It was a busy weekend for Hampton University cross country, as the Pirates and Lady Pirates competed in the Virginia Union Panther Classic on Friday afternoon before the Pirates won the NCCU Eagle Classic on Saturday.
 
Ce'aira Brown and Stanley Davis each won individual titles over the weekend.
 
Brown's title – her second of the season and third of her career – came on Friday, where she completed the 5K course at Bryan Park in a personal-best 17:20.40. It marked the second straight year in which Brown took the top spot in the Panther Classic.
 
Davis turned in the top time in Durham, N.C. on Saturday, completing the 8K course in a season-best 27:28.87. All five Pirate runners finished in the top 10 in the NCCU Eagle Classic, allowing Hampton to win the dual meet 20-35 over the host Eagles.
 
Eric Ellis was third in the NCCU Eagle Classic with a 28:16.57, while Joshua Oxley came in fourth after running a 28:36.89. Quentin Morales-Perryman ran a 28:37.42 to finish fifth, while Christopher Roundtree was seventh with a 29:04.08.
 
Brown's winning time on Friday allowed the Lady Pirates to finish second in the team standings in the Virginia Union Panther Classic, and she paced three Hampton runners that finished in the top 10 on the women's side.
 
Kaylor Murray was eighth with a 19:21.20, while Ashley Modeste ran a 19:37.00 to finish ninth.
 
Kenitra Hatton turned in a 21:21.00 to finish 14th, and Pollyanna Velasco came in 26th after running a 23:48.50.
 
The Lady Pirates had 58 points.
 
The Pirates also finished second in Friday's Panther Classic, racking up 47 points in the men's standings. Davis led three Pirates in the top 10 of the individual standings, turning in a 28:41.10 to finish sixth. Ellis was seventh with a 29:01.80.
 
Roundtree ran a 29:46.50 to finish 10th.
 
Morales-Perryman ran a 30:02.00 to finish 11th, while Oxley was 13th with a 30:14.00.
