ORANGEBURG, SC -- Labron Morris ran for 134 yards and scored two touchdowns as South Carolina State jumped out to a 26-0 lead and defeated Hampton 33-15 on Saturday afternoon.
After trading off possessions, Hampton was forced to punt from inside its five-yardline but the punt snap was high and
Adam Brown landed on the back of the end zone for a safety and a 2-0 SCSU lead with 9:08 left in first.
The Bulldogs pushed that to a 9-0 lead on the ensuing possession as Morris scored on a three-yard run with 7:48 remaining in the first.
Morris scored his second touchdown early in the second quarter on a one-yard dive at the 13:39 mark to cap an 11-play, 78-yard drive. That lead grew to 19-0 on a 26-yard field goal by Tyler Scandrett with 6:47 remaining in the half.
Dewann Ford found De'Mo Burroughs on a four-yard scoring pass midway through the third quarter as the hosts took the lead to 26-0. Hampton responded with an 11-play, 85-yard drive as

Ronald Bell on a 15-yard scoring pass to trail 26-7 with 4:28 left in the third.
Yahkee Johnson gave Hampton its next points finishing a 14-play, 80-yard drive with a nine-yard run and then scored the two-point run to bring Hampton with 26-16 with 2:15 left. The Bulldogs got a final score with 18 seconds left on a Treyvon Edwards two-yard run.
Williams threw for 119 yards and a touchdown along with running for team-high 49 yards. Bell caught five passes for 65 yards and a score. On defense,
Raheim Huskey had a stellar day with 14 tackles, 13 solo, two tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and a quarterback hurry.
Hampton closes out the season with Senior Day on November 18 facing Howard at 1 pm at Armstrong Stadium.
