FAIRFAX, Va. – Hampton University closed out its run in the George Mason Classic on Saturday with a pair of defeats to George Mason in four sets and Charlotte in three.
GEORGE MASON 3, HAMPTON 1
The first match of the day for Hampton put them against the host Patriots and Hampton fell in four sets. The Lady Pirates won the first set 25-21, before GMU took the next three 26-24, 25-17, 26-24.
Reeana Richardson had a season best 19 kills and six digs, while
Lena Washington had nine kills and 13 digs.
Victoria Jenifer added eight kills and
Kyndall Nicholas had five and four aces.
CHARLOTTE 3, HAMPTON 0
Reeana Richardson added six kills and five digs as Hampton fell to Charlotte 25-7, 25-15, 25-13.
Kyndall Nicholas added five kills, while
Lena Washington had four and five digs.
Hampton (2-11) will hit the home floor for the first time on September 22 in the MEAC North-South Challenge when they host South Carolina State at 7 pm in Holland Hall.
