Allyson Babinsack threw a three-hit shutout with five strikeouts as Hampton scored single runs in the third and sixth innings to defeat the University of Maryland Eastern Shore 2-0 on Sunday in the final game of a three-game series.

The Lady Pirates scored a run in the bottom of the third behind aÂ
Jada Fields infield single to shortstop.
Brianna Anderson would pinch run for Fields and steal second and then third before scoring on a throwing error by the catcher. Â

In the sixth inning,
Lorena Alvarez would rip a single through the left side. Alvarez would advance to second on a wild pitch.
DaSha Hill would lay down a sweet bunt to advance Alvarez to third and beat out the throw at first. Alvarez would score from third on a sacrifice bunt from
Alana VanDenburg.

Hampton returns to action on Wednesday hosting North Carolina Central University for a doubleheader starting at 1 pm.
