ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Courtney Mirabella went 2-for-3 at the plate and struck out seven in throwing a complete game as North Carolina Central ended Hampton's softball season 2-1 on Friday afternoon at Ormond Beach Sports Complex.
NCCU scored a pair of runs in the first on a RBI single from Dalika Wallace and a run-scoring double by Mirabella.
Hampton pushed its run across in the bottom of the third as
Daniella Milloy started with a single up the middle and advanced on a sacrifice bunt by
Lorena Alvarez. After a fly out,
Taylor Warrick beat out an infield single but an errant throw allowed pinch-runner
Brianna Anderson to score.
Milloy and
Kial Watts had two hits apiece for Hampton as they finished 24-28 on the season.
