Â
BEHIND THE NUMBERS
- Megann Delgado registered the first double-double of her HU career with a match-high 18 kills and 10 digs, tallying five service aces as well.
- Lena Reed-Petracek had 28 assists while Maja Petronijevic led all players with 21 digs.
- Kaitlyn Grice was the only UNO player with double-digit kills, collecting 10.
- Hampton's defense held New Orleans to a negative hitting percentage in the third and fifth sets, both HU victories.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- New Orleans led the entire first set and held an early 4-1 lead in the second set as well before HU went on a 7-3 run, capped off by a Sasha Saric kill, to take an 8-7 edge. The two teams went back and forth, with UNO leading 10-9, but that would be the last lead the Privateers would have in the set.
- The third set was all Lady Pirates early as HU ran out to an 8-3 lead. New Orleans chipped away, eventually taking an 18-17 lead. Reed-Petracek served the next five points to put HU out in front 21-19, a lead they would hold onto in the swing game.
- With the sets tied at two, and the fifth set tied at 3-all, HU received the benefit of three-straight New Orleans errors to go up 6-3. UNO fought back to trail by just one, 7-6, but Hampton went on a 7-0 run to complete the victory.
