BEHIND THE NUMBERS
- It was the third meeting all-time between the two schools. Charleston Southern won the first two as well, coming at neutral locations in 2000 and 2008 respectively.
- Megann Delgado led Hampton with 17 kills while Lena Reed-Petracek contributed 42 assists. Maja Petronijevic contributed 15 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hampton trailed in the first set, 19-18, when a rally put the Lady Pirates back out in front. The two squads went back and forth with the score ultimately deadlocked at 23-all.
- Charleston Southern got a kill from Naiomi Rivera to go ahead 24-23 to bring up set point, but Victoria Jenifer tallied a kill to even the score. An error and a kill by Kyndall Nicholas ended the first set.
- Hampton held a 12-11 edge in the second set, but Charleston Southern led the rest of that game.
- The third set was even closer with the schools tied at 23, but a pair of kills from Caitlyn Michalski and Madison Malloch put CSU up by a set.
- HU once again led 9-8 in the fourth set, but Charleston Southern responded with a 5-0 run. The hosts would lead the rest of the way.Â

Hampton returns home to host UNC Asheville (5-6/0-1) in the first home match of the year. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. start on Thursday.
