GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Hampton track teams competed this weekend in the Aggie Invitational and came out with five top five finishes.
Freshman
Zuri Rashad took second in the women's 5000 meters in 19:12.67, while
Jaelen Leonard took third in the long jump with a leap of 19'1 ½ to lead the Lady Pirates.
For the men,
Tayvon Burris ran 1:50.69 to take second in the men's 800 which is a season best time and second best in the conference. Coby Price was fifth in the 5000 in 16:36.78, while the 4x100 relay team of
Derrick Price,
Moffat Wanjiru,
Jerrick Powell and
Isaiah Norris were third in 42.06.
They will next compete in the South Carolina open next weekend in Columbia, S.C.
